Signage fabrication and finishes

Frame colours and corner profiles

Signage frames and posts should complement their surroundings rather than compete with them. Their purpose is to support the interpretation, not become a feature in their own right.

In most landscapes, mid to dark grey finishes provide a neutral backdrop. They allow the sign content to remain the focus while helping the structure settle naturally into its surroundings. Black can also work well where it complements the sign artwork, surrounding materials or character of the landscape.

Rounded corners create a softer, more refined appearance and are generally preferable to square corners. As a guide, use a corner radius of approximately 15 mm for smaller signs and up to 30 mm for larger signs.
