Welcome to Country signage

Welcome to Country signage invites people to the land of the traditional custodians of that area. It also thanks the ancestors for allowing meetings or events to take place on that land. In the past, the Welcome would usually involve an elaborate ceremony of song, dance and feasting. We have been engaged by many mobs to design and develop signage and entry statements that welcome visitors onto their land.

There are many ways to appropriately Acknowledge Country or Welcome to Country. One way to demonstrate respect is by featuring such acknowledgements on signage. It reminds us that every day we live, work, and dream on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander lands.

Our Welcome to Country signage includes text passages (and artwork) on large information panels, dedicated entry statements and smaller installations of acknowledgment and recognition. The solar audio post allows visitors to hear Uncle Mark Flanders’ Welcome to Country in ‘language’ and english.
