Project overview
This project delivered a refreshed suite of interpretive & wayfinding signage for the renowned Tabletop Track in Litchfield National Park, supporting NT Parks in enhancing a well-loved multi-day walking experience. The updated signs were designed to improve visitor understanding of the region’s geology, ecology and rich cultural heritage while strengthening consistency across trail nodes and key decision points.
Working closely with Northern Territory Parks and Wildlife, we developed a cohesive interpretive approach aligned to the park’s broader visitor experience objectives. Detailed map graphics, habitat illustrations and clear narrative framing help walkers understand the unique sandstone landscapes, monsoon forests and significant species they encounter along the track. The design system also incorporates durable materials suited to Litchfield’s tropical climate, ensuring long-term resilience across remote sites.
Notable outcomes
The new signage suite improves visitor engagement and strengthens wayfinding clarity along one of the Top End’s most iconic walks. By presenting cultural and environmental stories through engaging visuals and concise narrative layers, the project enhances the overall walking experience and supports NT Parks’ long-term management and conservation goals.
Collaborative process
Design and content development occurred in close consultation with Parks Interpretation Officers, ensuring ecological accuracy and cultural sensitivity. Elements drew visual inspiration from local escarpments and flora, resulting in accessible, site-responsive graphics. Three editing rounds incorporated feedback and ensured alignment with a shared vision of excellence.
