The design and ongoing development of environmental signs for Sutherland Shire Council has been immensely rewarding. We developed a template design for environmental interpretive signage that incorporated Council’s branding style guides and formed the basis for ongoing designs. Research and content writing for each of the environmental signs forms part of our ongoing project brief. The result is a suite of signs to educate visitors and residents alike.

Sutherland Shire Council’s Environmental Signage Program
Council developed an environmental signage program to assist in creating greater community awareness of environmental and heritage values across the Shire. The use of colourful informative interpretation signage forms the basis of this awareness. The signs also inform residents and visitors about what can be done to protect the environment and our heritage. Go to site
This ongoing project has included varying amounts of research, content writing and image searching along with full graphic design. TIDC developed a template design in 2014 (based on Sutherland Shire Council template guidelines) and have since produced 18 environmental signs 600mm wide x 450mm.
Heritage interpretive signs
TIDC has been engaged in on-going research, content writing and design of heritage based interpretive signage to reveal the rich history of the Shire. Based on council’s template guidelines these signs often use black and white artwork – hand drawn illustrations by Peter and historical photographs.
