Indigenous Vaccination Poster for Measles Mumps Rubella & Chicken Pox

The Department of Health and Ageing (Australian Federal Government) engaged us to design an indigenous vaccination poster to increase awareness of upcoming changes to the Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR) and Varicella (chicken pox) vaccines. The materials requested were required to support a communication strategy that informs health professionals, parents and caregivers of children about the MMRV vaccine as well as information about the transition period.

Several drafts were created before the final selection (middle image) was adopted. In addition we created a poster for the non-indigenous public and supporting materials.

Governments have been trying to combat misconceptions and conspiracy theories about vaccine safety with mixed success. Despite the fact that numerous (independent) studies have found no evidence to support the notion that vaccines cause autism and other chronic illnesses, a growing number of parents are refusing to vaccinate their children. These falling immunisation rates have been linked to recent resurgences of vaccine preventable diseases.
