At the end of January 2015 Sawtell Art Group held a series of art workshops. My painting was undertaken in Ros Robertson’s contemporary acrylics class. Everyone thought I was painting a pear! So another one for my Pirelli Calendar. Only 10 to go.

Also with the Sawtell Art Group, this artwork involves painting and collage.. This was undertaken in Lujcia Ray’s Mixed Media workshop and uses a black gesso canvas that incorporates hand made paper, acrylics, collage and pastels.
White Belly, a Sioux Indian Painting
In keeping with our USA trip and visit to the National Association of Interpretation conference in Denver this commission was for a friend with American Indian heritage. This painting is of White Belly, a Sioux Indian. I was originally asked for a painting of a man and woman but in typical artist style I did this painting of White Belly and also offered up to previous pencil drawings which fulfilled the design brief.
Here is Kate, my beautiful step-daughter.
Painting of Liv Tyler for my other niece’s – Stephanie – 21st birthday.
I think this one was from a birthday card , but it could easily be a Robert Maplethorpe photograph too.
Painting for my niece’s 21st birthday. I found a photo in a magazine. It was tiny, about 3 cm square so it left a lot of room for imagination.
My staffordshire bull terrier, Panda, a truly beautiful dog. Painted in acrylics.
And the real thing … I’m sure Panda qualifies as a figure painting!
This is Katrina – my gorgeous girlfriend. We’re on holiday in Bali here (2010).
You can tell more about a person by what he says about others than you can by what others say about him. Audrey Hepburn
Robert Maplethorpe’s photography has provided inspiration along the way.
